Aim of role:
Active Ageing Centres (AAC) serve as go-to points for all seniors aged 60 years and above, providing a range of services from active ageing programmes to befriending to referral and care services. Active ageing is a collaborative effort, and seniors can continue to age with joy and vigour with your help! Working closely with the operations staff in facilitating active ageing activities to help seniors stay connected and active while keeping an eye out for seniors requiring other types of care services.
Role Responsibilities:
1. To facilitate centre activities for seniors
2. To help in logistics preparation prior to the start of each activity
3. To outreach to senior within service boundaries
4. Help out and ensure seniors’ safety during outing activities
Location:
Ang Mo Kio, Bendemeer, Clementi, Ghim Moh, Mei Ling and Tampines
Commitment Level / Frequency:
Weekly or Monthly Face-to-Face home visits/sessions
Requirements & Skills
• Volunteers must be aged 18 years and above
• Available for minimum 2 hours per session on weekdays
• For weekends, volunteers to assist in outings/outreach
• Great inter-personal skills with an approachable personality
• Fluent in one Mother Tongue (preferably Mandarin or Dialects)
*New Centre Volunteers will have to attend an Orientation Training before commencement
