Skills-Based Volunteer

Aim of role:

Looking to volunteer for a good cause yet find it challenging to commit on a regular basis? Worry not. We are looking for passionate individuals who can contribute through their skill sets to aid in the holistic development of seniors and volunteers alike.


Your assistance will not only benefit the seniors, but also shed light on volunteerism in a multi-faceted approach. With varying roles, we are certain they will appeal to your area of interests and also contribute towards a good cause.

Role Responsibilities:

1. Designing of posters/collaterals for commercial purposes
2. Photography
3. Videography with video editing
4. Translation works for posters/collaterals
5. Assist with online/offline courses & trainings
6. Assist with outreach to frail and home-bound seniors for advocacy

Location:

Home-based/Island-wide locations (expected to travel for certain roles)

 

 

Commitment Level / Frequency:

Ad-hoc basis

 

Requirements & Skills

• Volunteers must be aged 18 years and above

• Available for project-basis or when the opportunity arises

• Keen to learn and accept responsibility

• Able to articulate in at least one Mother Tongue

Assistant Trainer

Facilitate Training & Development
1. Lead/co-lead orientation training sessions (online/offline) for newly onboarded volunteers

2. Provide education and training on befriending/ageing/basic healthcare topics
3. Provide administrative and logistical support to the Trainer
4. Drives learner development and continuous learning by actively providing feedback and learner support

Competencies & Knowledge Required
• Knowledge on stakeholder engagement & management
• Knowledge on learning experience delivery/coaching and mentoring
• Knowledge on using online video conferencing platforms i.e., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc
• Familiar with PowerPoint presentation
• Experience with emceeing skills or addressing people
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, preferably bilingual

Things to take note:
• Commit at least
four sessions within a calendar year
• Able to attend Saturday mornings or occasional Weekday evenings sessions
• Possess personal laptop/desktop device when sessions are conducted online

Collaterals/Infographic Designer

Competencies & Knowledge Required
• Experience with designing collaterals and/or posters
• Familiar with Adobe/Canva/ graphic design tools

Things to take note:
Possess personal laptop/desktop device

Photographer/Videographer

Competencies & Knowledge Required
• Familiar with using a camera
• Experience with using video editing software (for videographers)

Things to take note:
Possess personal camera for photography/videography and personal laptop/desktop device for video editing

*Students and School Photography/Videography clubs are welcome to sign up for this role.

 

Translator

Competencies & Knowledge Required
Able to articulate in at least one Mother Tongue (Mandarin/Malay/Tamil)
